The Grand Day Parade - what happens on the day?
The arena will be open from 1300, with pre-parade entertainment, as well as food and drink concessions available on the laybys between the west end of Lower Park and the Rue de Galet junction.
The New Route
The grand day parade will start at 1500 by the La Motte Ford garage at Rue de Galet and proceed east along the southern carriageway of Victoria Avenue, finishing at Lower Park, where the floats will park up for the night and be available for public viewing close-up. Entrance to the arena is free, and accessible from Rue de Galet, First Tower or West Park. The arena will be open until 1800, when the road re-opens.
As the afternoon builds, anticipation rises.
Major awards are announced live in the arena, recognising excellence across multiple classes. Spectators also play their part, voting for their favourite exhibit and contributing to one of the day’s most celebrated trophies.
